EM Consulting Group Principal and President Joe Murcko licensed EM Consulting Group in the State of Arizona in December, 2004. EM Consulting became a Senior Partner of SW Lean Associates in 2008.
SW Lean Associates Partners have extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing. The partners consist of Lean Masters (Sensei), Six Sigma Black Belts, Human Resources Generalist, Safety Specialist, and Process Engineers.

Joe’s vision when launching EM Consulting was to assist client customers in avoiding costly and unnecessary new processes and changes by improving systems and processes already in place. EM Consulting continues this vision and partnered with SW Lean Associates in late 2008 to utilize the diverse knowledge and skills of the partners in a changing economy. The SW Lean Associates operating strategy is to use Lean methods to provide immediate, and bottom line cost saving solutions, to assist companies affected by recessionary pressures on their tactical level operations.
Joe Murcko Bio:
Joe is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), American Management Association (AMA), and comes to the field of Performance Consulting following 19 years experience working in the Toyota Production System (TPS), in the lean manufacturing environment at New United Motor Mfg. Inc. (NUMMI), located in Fremont, California. In addition to functioning as an Internal Consultant and Project Manager to the VP of Manufacturing at NUMMI, Joe achieved the management rank of Department Manager of Assembly Car Operations. Among NUMMI accomplishments during Joe’s leadership of Assembly Car was the prestigious 2002 JD Power award for 1st and 3rd place in “Initial Vehicle Quality” for the NUMMI built Corolla and Prizm.
Joe's hands on experience as a Performance Consultant is with Arizona Manufacturing Extension Partnership. Joe functioned as a Project Manager/Consultant in planning and delivering valuable change initiatives to Arizona and Florida based companies.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Management Degree from Saint Mary’s College of Moraga, California, and a Master of Organization Development and Human Resource Management from the University of San Francisco. Joe is also certified as a Job Training Instructor by Toyota Motor Corporation, is certified in Safety Training by DuPont Corporation, and Labor and Grievance Handling by the US Department of Labor. Joe holds a Certificate of Qualification in Lean Sigma from the Six Sigma Institute.
